Dear Student,

you have applied for studying Mathematics (Mathematik) or Informatics (Informatik) starting next semester at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). As soon as you have enrolled, you are a member of the student body (Fachschaft) Mathematik/Informatik. If you have applied for a different field, please visit http://www.asta-kit.de/ophase and contact the student body of your field of study. We’d like to invite you to our so-called orientation days (O-Phase) for all future master freshmen, where you’ll get information about your studies and have a chance to meet your future fellow students. It will take place from

You should by all means attend the General Course Information (Fachbereichsinformation), where your course of studies will be explained to you. It will take place in the lecture hall -102 for informatics students and room -108 for all mathematics students (both in the basement of the informatics building). If you can’t attend it, feel free to contact us, either in person or via e-mail at o-phase@fsmi.uni-karlsruhe.de.

If you already received your credentials for the Studierendenportal website, please bring a printout of the KVV-Bescheinigung (You’ll find it under Reports → Study Reports). This will allow you to use public transportation for the evening events and on weekends (International Event) for free. It is only valid in combination with your student identity card so have to take it with you too!

The first master regular’s table (Masterstammtisch) in the new semester takes place on Tuesday, April 17th at 7 p.m. at Stövchen!
