Welcome

We, the Fachschaft Mathematik/Informatik (student representative body of mathematics and computer science) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology would like to welcome you on our website for the orientation week (O-Phase) in winter semester 2026 / 2027. Here you can get the most important information and news you will need as a new student.

In addition you’ll get in touch with your fellow students – perhaps some friendships arise too!

The O-Phase will take place from the 19.10.2026 to the 24.10.2026, both start and end included.

While the whole O-Phase is voluntary, we really recommend participating to make the first weeks of your first semester easier. It’s not going to be boring, we promise!

Opening Event

The Opening Event will take place on Monday the 19th October at 09:00 AM in the Audimax for the bachlor’s degrees and at 10:00 AM in the Tulla lecture hall for the master’s degrees.

Registration

You do not have to register to participate at the O-Phase. We will inform you about changes regarding the registration. Check the website regularly to get the latest information, if you want to be sure.

You will receive an official invitation, containing a more detailed plan of the O-Phase. This invitation is also uploaded here.

If you haven’t heard anything until the 01.10.2026, feel free to look at the invitation here. If any questions arise, please get in touch via mail or if possible in person.

Study Programme Information

The most important event during the week is the “study programme information” (Fachbereichsinformationen, FBI) at 02:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20. Even if you cannot make it to the rest of the orientation week, please try to make it to the FBI. There you will learn the most important details of the programme of your studies.

We provide an FBI for the following fields of study:
