Welcome
We, the students council of mathematics and computer science (Fachschaft Mathematik/Informatik) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology would like to invite you to our Master’s orientation days (Master O-Phase) in the summer term 2023! On this website you will find all the important dates and information about the O-Phase.

The O-Phase will take place during the week before the start of the lectures:

Participation
To participate in the O-Phase, we ask you to register. This way we can estimate how many people will participate and adjust our planning. You will also receive important information by email. Please fill out the survey as soon as possible.
General information
The O-Phase is aimed at all students who will start a Master’s program at the faculties of Mathematics or Informatics/Computer Science in the summer term of 2023. During the three days, you will get a varied, informal program of information events to prepare you for your studies at KIT, as well as events to get to know the other students and the campus.
Some events are also aimed at all Master’s students and are also advertised separately.

Here is a rough plan of what to expect. Especially important are the welcome event where we explain the 3-day schedule and the Fachbereichsinformation, where all your questions about the organisation of your studies will be answered.

Almost all of our events take place in the Infobau (Geb. 50.34, Am Fasanengarten 5) in the basement. The other locations are linked above in the weekly schedule.

During the so-called Department Information (FBI), we explain everything you need to know for your studies. If you have any questions about the degree program in advance, you are also welcome to email us.

If you have any questions regarding your application for a study place at KIT, please contact the Application Hotline at 0721/608-82222 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am - 12 pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 pm - 3 pm.
Please note that the student council has no insight into the application documents for reasons of data protection!
