Hey there!
We would like to invite you to the orientation week of the
Fachschaft Mathematics/Computer Science.
You received this letter because you were admitted to a program of Mathematics or Computer Science at KIT. If you enroll, you will be a member of the Fachschaft Mathematik/Informatik – the student body of these faculties.
With our orientation days – the “O-Phase” – we would like to prepare you for your studies here, both if you are new to Karlsruhe or already know all of this. You will receive all the important information about starting your studies and have the opportunity to meet your new fellow students.
The O-Phase takes place from
April 15th to April 17th, 2026,
i.e. from Wednesday to Friday.
What to expect?
The O-Phase schedule is a mix of informational and social events, and you can decide which events are of interest to you and fit your schedule. We start with the opening on Wednesday at 12 p.m. in the Tulla lecture hall with the introduction of our tutors.
You should not miss the Study program information (Fachbereichsinformationen, FBI) on Wednesday at 2 p.m., where we explain the exact structure of your studies and everything you need to know for the first semester.
You can find the complete schedule with all events on page 3 .
Participation and Information
In order to participate in the O-Phase, you’ll need to register. Please fill in our survey at:
We would like to know what you are studying and which events you plan to participate in. This really helps us with planning, so please complete the survey as soon as possible. In addition, we will inform you via your email address if there are any last-minute changes.
There is also a Telegram group for the O-Phase, where we communicate short term information and you can chat with your fellow students.
You can also sign up to useful mailing lists on our website.
On the following pages, you will find the schedule and a few reminders for things you might want to do before the start of the O-Phase.
Any changes and more detailed information on the programme can be found on our information portal at o-phase.com/en. Please check there occasionally for updates. If the information there does not help you, you can always send us an email to contact@o-phase.com .
Best regards and see you soon!
